Smith Family PhotoI would like to take this opportunity to wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Smith Family and Calvary Chapel. We are looking forward to another wonderful year growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Maranatha!

In Prayer

Please be in prayer regarding two churches that are currently interested in purchasing our building.  They have requested additional information regarding monthly expenses which we have supplied.  As always our prayer is that God’s will is done and that He make it know to us.  Thank you in advance for your prayers.

What I’ve Learned

I learned this past year that adversity is necessary. Yes, but not only necessary a must!!! For example without Pharaoh we would not have the Great Exodus….Without the Canaanites we would not have the Great Conquest and without the Cross we would not have such a Great Salvation. Personally, without the valleys, we would not have the mountain top.

James 1:2-4
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

I know it sounds ironic or even not right but yes the trials, the flames, the fiery darts and the stumbling blocks are all working together to make us into the men and women of God that He has designed for us to become. May we not cast off our “Cross” because the weight of it becomes too much to bear but instead may we carry it with joy. For the burden of our “Cross” is much less to bear than the burden of sin and death and hell. Give me grace with my “Cross” any day of the week because I know that one day the “Cross” will be cast off my back by my Savior and I will worship Him forever in eternal bliss.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Thanks Josh

Hey Josh, thanks for coming and teaching this morning. We were all blessed! May God bless you, your family and church body in the years to come.

New Kid on the Blog

Communication is the key to introducing a new generation to Jesus Christ. Jesus communicated with the people of His day by walking the dirt paths of Israel going from town to town. The disciples did the same and therefore so must we.

However, the dirt paths of yesterday are the blogs of today. The word blog is web jargon for “web log.” Blogs make it easy to create, maintain and delete web content with a click of the mouse.

The purpose of this initial blog is to begin communicating with each other and those in our community in a new and fresh way. In the ensuing months you will find at this site a series of articles entitled “From the Heart,” where Pastor Ryan endeavors to share his thoughts on life, the bible and current events…..from the heart. Also you will find prayer requests, praise reports, a weekly scripture verse, upcoming events and a whole lot more.

The ease of updating our Church’s web content enables ministry leaders to more effectively communicate with those who currently attend our fellowship and those who will in the future.

I hope you find this site practical, informative and helpful to your everyday walk with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Sale of Building

We believe the Lord is leading us to relocate our church family to another location within the City of Bowling Green.  Please pray with us that the Lord directs our decisions and makes it abundantly clear when the time is right to accept an offer.

Stay Tuned

Please stay tuned….the first installment of “From the Heart” is in the works!
